Biology and Geology – ESO 4

Biology and Geology – ESO 4 was published in April 2019. It covers all of the key topics in the curriculum for the fourth year of ESO. It is written in an accessible style that reflects the English skills of Spanish 15/16-year-olds.

We help students to overcome language barriers by using visual aids, such as clearly-labelled diagrams, graphs and pictures.

Within biology, the main theme of this book is life on Earth, including the basic structure of living things, the inheritance of characteristics, the evolution of organisms and how they interact with each other. The geology part looks at the Earth’s internal structure, plate tectonics and the history of the Earth.

The book breaks the subject down into manageable topics that are presented in a logical sequence. Each topic is accompanied by a large number of questions and/or exercises. At the end of each chapter there are also various longer activities to consolidate and summarise the contents of the chapter. As well as standard questions, these include practicals, calculations, pair/group work and reading exercises.
